About

Palimpsest is a semi-annual print publication run by graduate and professional students at Yale University, featuring visual art, nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and media related to architecture and music.

The magazine was founded by Won Jung Park, a Ph.D. student in English Literature, and it appeared annually from 2003 to 2007. Following a lengthy hiatus, Palimpsest was revived under the editorship of Susan Morrow, a Ph.D. student in Germanic Languages and Literatures, in 2014. Originally publishing work by currently enrolled Yale graduate students exclusively, submissions were opened to the wider public beginning in 2015 with Volume VII: HYBRID. Please see our Archives for information about past volumes.

Palimpsest is made possible thanks to funding from McDougal Graduate Student Life, the Graduate and Professional Student Senate, the Office of International Students and Scholars, the Yale University Art Gallery, and the Yale Center for British Art. We also wish to thank Lisa Brandes and the McDougal Graduate Student Life Office, Martina Droth at the Yale Center for British Art, and Kate Ezra and Elizabeth Manekin at the Yale University Art Gallery.

Thank you for your interest in the magazine.
